The Finance Council functions as a consultative body to the pastor. It consists of selected professionals to advise the pastor in these areas:
Preparation of the annual operating budget
Long-term financial planning
Annual parish financial report, which is submitted to the Diocesan Bishop
Annual and periodic financial reports to the faithful.
The Finance Council ensures that an adequate system of internal controls is in place to guide the parish in caring for and managing financial resources and temporal goods.

St. Maria Goretti Parish complies with policies and procedures of the Diocese of Sacramento to assure transparency of our financial operations. We publish a quarterly financial statement in the parish bulletin and generate a year-end financial report which is shared to parishioners. Information concerning parish finances can be obtained by contacting the Chair of the Finance Council.
Membership
2022-2023
The Parish Finance Council consists of a variety of parishioners to ensure all perspectives are considered in council decisions. Council members serve for a minimum of three years and a maximum of five years except for the chair, who serves for a year at a time (and maybe re-appointed). Ideally, each member has a previous background in financial matters.
